New Orleans 102.2 "Good Enough to Slap Your Mother"

The next stop was the famous Mothers Restaurant. I kept hearing that this was "the place" to eat. When I went inside, I saw a long line of people who had apparently heard the same thing. The place is not upscale, so if there were this many people in line, I figured all the fuss had to be about the food. I grabbed the menu began reading..My eyes lead me down to the "Po-Boys" section of the menu....Ferdi, John G, Debris, Shrimp, so on and so on. I wondered to myself, which one? Well there was a big group guys behind me in line looking at the menu also. One of them kept saying, "duuuuuude, get the Ralph. Yeah man, get the Ralph, it's awesome". So thats what I decided to go with. I didn't even know what that was but what the heck. People in line where asking the employees about items on the menu. I didn't hear what the question was, but I heard the response, "its gotta be sweet baaabee". The way those New Orleans women say baby, melts a man's heart! Anyway, I got my Ralph, a sandwich with Ham, Roast Beef, Debris, and gravy. Its also has shredded cabbage, mustard, creole, mayo and pickle. Wierd combo right? I don't even know what some of that stuff is. I took a bite of my Ralph.......Let me tell you..... If my mamma had been there I would've reached across the table and smacked her! The mayo, the mustard, the cabbage, the pickle, the debris, the ham, the roast beef, all working in perfect harmony! The only draw back of the Ralph was the debris sauce mad the bread soggy. After going back the next day and buying another Ralph with the Debris sauce on the side, I can tell you that I like it better with the Debris on the sandwich. If you are ever in New Orleans, you have to go to Mothers!
